The element of a photo composition are its building blocks

• Lines - connect objects, delineate boundaries between contrasting area, and provide a path for the eye.
• Shapes - 2D areas within the composition
• Forms - the 3D quality of an object
• Value - the intensity of light regardless of color; contrast
• Color - hue or wavelength, also more complicated values such as hot, cool, distant, etc.
• Textures - the real or perceived surface quality of objects within the composition
