Verdugo Mountains State Park - The parks highest point is 3,126 feet with views from the peak of the San Gabriel and the San Fernando valleys (assuming you hike up on a day when the Santa Ana winds clear away the haze). Its about 1 hr 15 min one way from Whiting Road or La Tuna Canyon to the top. La Tuna is the easier and more enjoyable hike.
